With any retail crusade trial and error, time and feeling of annoyance at being hindered or criticized go hand in hand. We are perpetually attempting to tweak what works and eliminate what doesn’t. But why do we go through all this effort? Money of course! It stands to reason that the more effective our marketing attempts become the more profitable our business becomes. The thing you need to ask yourself though is “do I in truth need to do this all work by myself?’ Well the answer is a resounding “No”. Billions of dollars have already been expended figuring this stuff out for you already. How you use it is up to you. The cover design of your eBook is the most necessary factor to your success marketing eBooks. You may have great sales copy, tons of traffic, and an unbelievable eBook. But no one will buy it if your eBook cover does not appeal to them. Think of it this way. When you go into a store and walk around the aisles what do you stop and look? Now ask yourself why you stop and look and peculiar items and ignore 90% of the rest of the stuff. In fact, I will go so far as to suggest that you go to a huge retailer today! Walk around the aisles and browse. Make a mental note or better yet take a notebook and a camera with you. Just wander aimlessly through the aisles and take notes and pictures of what catches your attention. The pictures are for you to see precisely why these items caught your attention. Was it the gorgeous colors, the slick design, flashing lights, beautiful model on the packaging, the headlines? Do you see where I’m going with this? If you are too lazy to in truth get up a go to the store or it is not realistic in your emplacement then browse the internet with the precise same mentality. Stop and make notes of what makes you stop and look closer at a website or product. Now you have to figure out why you were attracted to the item. If you are a young male you are attracted to something wholly dissimilar than a young female. Females buy 90% based on looks. If something will carry out a specific function for them, all other things being equal, they will buy the prettiest thing each time. Men on the other hand are attracted to wealth, power, slick design, and most of all SEX! Not to say women aren’t attracted to sex, but men up until a sure age think of this almost exclusively. You’ve heard the old adage that “sex sells”. Well it is an old adage for a reason, it’s true! If you may make your cover design sexy in numerous way, you will significantly increase your sales. Even if you are writing when it comes to Alzheimer’s disease! Obviously you need to figure out your target market first. In fact, the same product is ofttimes packaged differently to appeal to dissimilar demographics. You may do the same thing. It is humane nature to want to associate yourself with something sexy. Everyone wants to feel sexy in a lot of way. Obviously how overt you are regarding the “sex sells” is based on your audience. You genuinely need to recognise your audience. Advertisers have expended billions figuring this out for you so don’t try and reinvent the wheel. Find the dominant player in your niche and make an analyzation of what they are doing visually to attract customers. It details methods that most women do not intuitively know, including the actual techniques that turn guys on. I’m putting a similar review on the partner book for this (we got them both, together with “Red Hot Touch”), because the same criticisms apply.
